Folding furniture

A low-poly fold-down wall bed (Murphy bed) for a tiny house. A single bed swings down on its head pins out of a white cabinet with a shelf column beside it, and a black foot leg folds out to meet the floor, all as a seamless 8-second loop.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Folding furniture for the Tiny House kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Tiny House kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A complete home in a small box. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: cedar #814c31, white #f4f1ec, matte black #151619, plant green #3a883a, cedar dark #4a2b1c, white dark #d7cebc, cedar light #b36e4d, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `cladding` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Cladding" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.40 m wide × 2.21 m deep with the bed open (about 0.43 m closed) × 2.26 m tall. It is a 0.95 × 1.95 m single bed frame with its mattress top at 0.49 m, in a 2.23 m cabinet with a 0.30 m shelf column beside it. Origin is at the bottom centre of the open footprint on y = 0, with the bed facing +Z. 1140 triangles, counted from the GLB accessors. Animated: one baked 8 s seamless clip, 'scene-motion'. The bed holds open (0–1.5 s), folds up (1.5–4 s), holds closed (4–5.5 s) and folds down (5.5–8 s). The bed group turns about its pin axis inside the side rails, which sits in the cabinet's pivot plates. The foot-leg group turns about its hinge under the foot and folds flat under the boards during the first 30% of the lift. Open, the leg reaches exactly y = 0. The cabinet, shelves and plant never move. Closed, the bed's clad underside becomes the cabinet front. cladding (the kit's Cladding setting) sets the lap-board height on that face and on the bay's back wall, from 8 cm boards at 0 to 20 cm boards at 1, with 8 mm gaps. bedWidth widens the bed and its cabinet, and the shelf column follows. pillows switches between 1 and 2. The extremes (width 1.4 m, 2 pillows, cladding 1) passed three-check. Every material is named exactly after its Tiny House palette colour. 10 of the 12 are used, keeping the direction's 10-material limit; white light and soot black are not. three.js's exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat. The back is a plain panel, made to stand against a wall. plan-check's part-id pattern rejects the hyphenated slug ids the brief requires. The plan passed with the hyphens removed and is otherwise unchanged. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its warnings are heuristics: material count, non-indexed flat shading, intended nesting, 'detached' for the crown and leg (they rest on the carcass and hinges, which are separate parts), and a scale note for a 2.26 m object.

About the Folding furniture 3D model

Folding furniture is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Tiny House set. It measures 1.4 m × 2.3 m × 2.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,140 triangles across 28 meshes, with 34 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 151 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Folding furniture 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 151 KB: 1,140 triangles, 3,420 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 1.4 m × 2.3 m × 2.2 m.
Is Folding furniture animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Folding furniture 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
