How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Shelves for the Supermarket kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Supermarket kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A full grocery store interior. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, fresh green #3a883a, red #c32222, light wood #ac7d53, white dark #d7cebc, fresh green dark #235223, white light #f9f8f6, fresh green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `brandColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Brand colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: about 1.25 m wide × 0.55 m deep × 2.05 m tall, including the header. The end panels are 1.85 m tall, and the panels step in from 0.55 m deep at the base deck to 0.47 m above it. The origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, resting on y = 0, and the open shelf face points along +Z. The GLB has 2,544 triangles in 18 meshes (one per part and colour) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. 11 of the 12 kit colours appear at the defaults; soot black appears only when brandColours is below 0.34. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on more than one material: recolour by name. Header 'lettering' is modelled bars, not real text. brandColours (the kit's 'Brand colours') sets the share of product facings in red/green brand colours versus neutral wood and white packaging. It also switches the price strips between white dark, fresh green and red, and the header between mid grey and fresh green. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. Product layout is seeded, so it is deterministic. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicates (caused by the per-mesh materials), deliberate nesting of boards and trims in the panels, shelf boards embedded in the end panels of a sibling part, and the 2.05 m height versus its generic 1 m reference. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphen in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 5 survive the GLB reload.

About the Shelves 3D model

Shelves is a free low-poly 3D model from the Supermarket set. It measures 1.3 m × 2.0 m × 56 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,544 triangles across 18 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 132 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Shelves 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 132 KB: 2,544 triangles, 4,252 vertices and 18 materials, modelled in metres at 1.3 m × 2.0 m × 56 cm.
Can I animate Shelves?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Shelves 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
