Moving crane
A low-poly mobile harbour crane: a sea-blue tyred undercarriage braced on four outriggers, a slewing yellow tower with an operator cab and machinery house, and a luffing boom lifting a 20 ft container on a spreader. A seamless 12 s loop slews, luffs and hoists while the base stays still.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Moving crane for the Shipping Port kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Shipping Port kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Containers, cranes and salt air. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: container colours #988e81, steel grey #757e8a, sea blue #2e67b8, yellow #eecd2b, container colours dark #70685c, steel grey dark #525860, container colours light #b6b3af, steel grey light #a3a5a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `containerColoursAndLogos` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Container colours and logos" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 32.8 m to the boom tip at rest (luff 41°; up to about 36 m at the top of the luff swing). The base is 14.2 m long and 4.8 m wide; the outrigger pads span 18.8 × 16.4 m. The boom is 34 m long and reaches about 28 m forward of the slewing axis at rest. The origin is on the slewing axis at the centre of the undercarriage, on y = 0 (not the centre of the bounding box, so the crane slews about its own origin). The boom faces +Z at rest. The GLB has 2,592 triangles in 31 meshes (merged per part and colour) and a 12 s looping clip 'scene-motion' with 36 tracks. The superstructure slews ±45°, the boom luffs 41° ± 8° on its foot pins, the cylinder barrel and rod pivot on their trunnion and lug pins (each aimed at the other so they stay coaxial), the hook block hangs plumb from the tip sheave axle, and the container hoists 10–16 m below the tip. The hoist and fall ropes stretch through node scale. The undercarriage and outriggers never move. The GLB's static node transforms hold the pose at the moment of export (mid-loop), not the rest pose; play the clip, or seek to 0, for the rest pose. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; the exporter writes one material per mesh, so recolour by name. 10 of the 12 kit colours are used by default; container colours light appears at low containerColoursAndLogos values, and dark wood is not used. containerColoursAndLogos (the kit's 'Container colours and logos') picks the container's tone (light / container colours / dark as the value rises) and widens a plain sea-blue band on its long sides (none at 0, 2.6 m at 1). It is a colour block, not a logo or text. boomLength, slewSweep and luffSwing are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. All-min and all-max settings pass three-check. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings (per-mesh materials, unindexed flat geometry, nested parts overlapping by design, the hook block and ropes 'detached' because they hang from pinned nodes, and scale compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 12 survive the GLB reload. No quay, ground or ship is included.
About the Moving crane 3D model
Moving crane is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Shipping Port set. It measures 29 m × 36 m × 32 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,592 triangles across 30 meshes, with 12 named parts and a baked animation (12.0 s). Download the 254 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Moving crane 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 254 KB: 2,592 triangles, 7,776 vertices and 30 materials, modelled in metres at 29 m × 36 m × 32 m.
- Is Moving crane animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (12.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Moving crane 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
