Customs office

A low-poly port customs checkpoint for the Shipping Port kit. It has a two-storey, flat-roofed customs house with a sea-blue livery band, plus a drive-through truck inspection canopy beside it with glazed booths and yellow-and-black barrier arms.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Customs office for the Shipping Port kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Shipping Port kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Containers, cranes and salt air. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: container colours #988e81, steel grey #757e8a, sea blue #2e67b8, yellow #eecd2b, container colours dark #70685c, steel grey dark #525860, container colours light #b6b3af, steel grey light #a3a5a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `containerColoursAndLogos` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Container colours and logos" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: the whole asset is 29.8 m (x) × 15 m (z) × 9.43 m tall. The office block is 14 m × 9 m with two 3.3 m storeys. Its roof deck is at 6.75 m, the parapet cap tops out at 7.75 m and the rooftop stair housing at 9.43 m. The flagpole is 9.3 m tall. The inspection canopy has 5.2 m truck clearance and covers two 4.5 m lanes with 1.8 m islands. It is 11 m long along the lanes. The entrance faces +Z. The lanes are on the +X side and exit toward +Z through the barriers. The origin is at the bottom centre of the concrete apron, which rests on y = 0. The GLB has 2,560 triangles in 47 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. At the default, 11 of the 12 colours are used: 'container colours' only appears at higher knob values. containerColoursAndLogos (the kit's 'Container colours and logos') sets the port livery. It colours the parapet band, porch canopy and canopy fascia: container colours dark below 0.33, sea blue up to 0.67, then container colours. From 0.3 it adds a yellow stripe under the canopy fascia, and from 0.75 the flag's lower half turns yellow. No logos or text are modelled, and the flag is a plain two-tone. barrierOpen raises the barrier arms by up to 80° as a static pose. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults, and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extremes passed three-check: all-max (3 storeys, 3 lanes, barriers up, knob 1; 3,686 viewer triangles) and all-min (1 storey, 1 lane, knob 0; 1,978 viewer triangles). The viewer figures include about 290 staging triangles. With one storey the canopy stands taller than the office roof, on its own columns. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected. They cover: duplicate material names (one mesh per colour per part), non-indexed flat shading, nested overlaps (lines on the apron, bands on walls), parts reported 'detached' because they rest on a mesh in another part, and the scale check for a subject taller than 1 m. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan passes with the slug de-hyphenated. three-check and the GLB keep all 13 ids. One fix round, visual only: the hero was framed tighter and a little lower.

About the Customs office 3D model

Customs office is a free low-poly 3D model from the Shipping Port set. It measures 30 m × 9.4 m × 15 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,560 triangles across 47 meshes, with 13 named parts. Download the 287 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Customs office 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 287 KB: 2,560 triangles, 7,680 vertices and 47 materials, modelled in metres at 30 m × 9.4 m × 15 m.
Can I animate Customs office?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 13 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Customs office 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
