Entrance steps

A low-poly flight of five marble museum entrance steps rising to a deep landing. A deep red carpet runner with brass stair rods runs up the middle, between two stone cheek walls with brass handrails and lamp-topped newel pedestals.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Entrance steps for the Museum kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Museum kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Quiet halls of old things. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: marble white #f4f1ec, deep red #861313, brass #b28c34, slate #525e6f, marble white dark #d7cebc, deep red dark #430a0a, marble white light #f9f8f6, deep red light #c32222, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `collectionTheme` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Collection theme" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 4.92 m wide, 3.01 m deep and 1.75 m tall to the top of the handrails. The flight between the cheek walls is 3.6 m wide. There are five 0.16 m risers with 0.36 m treads up to a 0.80 m high landing that is 1.2 m deep. The newel lamps reach 1.55 m. The origin is at the bottom centre, everything rests on y = 0, and the first step faces +Z. The GLB has 1,124 triangles and carries no animation. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour: marble white, marble white dark, marble white light, slate, deep red, brass and warm white at the default theme. The runtime's exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name repeats (23 material slots, 7 distinct colours). Recolour by name. The runner is a waterfall style: it hangs straight down in front of each nosing rather than tucking under it. Tread slabs sink 2 mm into the flight body, and the flight runs 20 mm into each cheek wall. Rail posts sink 10 mm into the coping, and each lamp globe's lowest facet sits in its brass collar. These overlaps are deliberate butt joins. Params are baked at their defaults in the GLB and only reshape the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. collectionTheme (the kit's 'Collection theme') picks the stone. Below 0.33 is archive: slate and grey stone on soot black courses with a deep red runner. 0.33–0.67 (default) is classical marble with a deep red runner. Above 0.67 is modern gallery: warm white steps between soot black walls with a soot black runner. The default, the all-minimum params (archive theme) and the all-maximum params (modern theme) were each rendered and pass three-check. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 4 warnings: the material count and duplicate materials (both from the per-mesh clones), non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), and overlapping sibling boxes (the runner, rods and slabs nest on the flight by design). Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphen in the slug-based ids this library requires; with the ids substituted it passes. three-check accepts the real ids, and all 14 survive the GLB reload.

About the Entrance steps 3D model

Entrance steps is a free low-poly 3D model from the Museum set. It measures 4.9 m × 1.8 m × 3.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,124 triangles across 23 meshes, with 14 named parts. Download the 98 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Entrance steps 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 98 KB: 1,124 triangles, 5,028 vertices and 23 materials, modelled in metres at 4.9 m × 1.8 m × 3.0 m.
Can I animate Entrance steps?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 14 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Entrance steps 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
