Dinosaur hall

A low-poly museum hall bay with a striding T-rex skeleton on a slate plinth, set against a deep red pilastered wall. It also has a brass rope barrier, a plaque lectern, benches and a red runner carpet.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Dinosaur hall for the Museum kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Museum kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Quiet halls of old things. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: marble white #f4f1ec, deep red #861313, brass #b28c34, slate #525e6f, marble white dark #d7cebc, deep red dark #430a0a, marble white light #f9f8f6, deep red light #c32222, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `collectionTheme` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Collection theme" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: one hall bay, 16 m wide (X) × 11 m deep (Z) × 6.2 m tall to the top of the cornice. The T-rex skeleton is about 11 m long nose to tail with its hip about 4 m above the plinth top, so the skull reaches about 5.4 m above the floor. The plinth is 12.4 × 3.4 × 0.6 m. Origin is at the bottom centre of the 0.15 m floor slab, resting on y = 0, and the visitor side faces +Z. Only the back wall is modelled, with no side walls or ceiling, so every orbit angle sees the exhibit. The exported model has 4,370 triangles. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The default theme uses 10 of the 12 colours (marble white light and deep red light are not used). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials (24 in total): recolour by name. The model is static, with no animation clip. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. collectionTheme (the kit's 'Collection theme') picks the gallery scheme in three steps: below 0.33, a slate wall, soot black wainscot and dark wood plinth; 0.33 to 0.66 (default), a deep red wall, deep red dark wainscot and slate plinth; above 0.66, a mid grey wall, dark wood wainscot and slate plinth. skeletonScale scales the skeleton and mount from 0.8× to 1.15× (about 9 to 12.7 m long). The plinth and barrier lengthen to match, and the barrier gets more posts. headRaise lowers or lifts the skull and opens the jaw wider as it rises. benchCount places 0, 1 (centred) or 2 benches. three-check passed at both extremes (theme 0, scale 0.8, head 0, 1 bench; theme 1, scale 1.15, head 1, no benches). glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 warnings. Two are about material count and duplicates, both caused by the per-mesh materials. One flags non-indexed geometry, which is deliberate flat shading. One flags sibling overlap where the wall, wainscot, rail and pilasters are deliberately nested. One flags 'detached' parts: the skull and jaw are embedded in the neck under pivot groups, the mount rods stand on the plinth, and the bench seats rest on their legs. One flags the scale (6.2 m against the direction's 1 m reference height), which is correct for a hall. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 20 survive the GLB reload.

About the Dinosaur hall 3D model

Dinosaur hall is a free low-poly 3D model from the Museum set. It measures 16 m × 6.2 m × 11 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,370 triangles across 24 meshes, with 20 named parts. Download the 329 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Dinosaur hall 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 329 KB: 4,370 triangles, 13,110 vertices and 24 materials, modelled in metres at 16 m × 6.2 m × 11 m.
Can I animate Dinosaur hall?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 20 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Dinosaur hall 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
