Oxygen tanks

A skid-mounted oxygen bank for the Mars Colony kit: three tall white pressure cylinders with hazard-orange domes, held in socket collars and straps, joined by a blue manifold with a pressure gauge and fill outlet, with red regolith dust on the shells and banked against the skid.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Oxygen tanks for the Mars Colony kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Mars Colony kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A first settlement on red dust. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rust red #c32222, white #f4f1ec, solar blue #2e67b8, hazard orange #ed7e1d, rust red dark #821717, white dark #d7cebc, rust red light #db5757, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `dustStormLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Dust storm level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size: about 2.42 m wide x 0.92 m deep x 2.28 m tall (skid plus drifts reach ~1.2 m deep); each cylinder is 0.56 m across and 1.9 m tall. Static asset: no animation clip, evaluatePose is a no-op. dustStormLevel (0-1) rebuilds the seeded dust coat on the tank shells and the drifts around the skid; at 0 the dust meshes are left out. Drifts and skid are part of the model (no ground disc); it rests on y = 0. Part ids use the root 'marscolonyoxygentanks' because the kit's part-id rule does not allow dashes. Material names are the kit palette colour names for recolouring. The exporter writes one material copy per mesh, so several materials share each palette name. Geometry is non-indexed with baked flat normals so it stays faceted in any importer. glb-lint reports 0 errors; its warnings are heuristics (material count, non-indexed geometry, real-scale height vs a 1 m reference, intentional nesting of bands on shells).
