Flags

A low-poly Mars colony flag stand: three crossbar-held flags of staggered height (colony flag, solar blue standard, hazard orange pennant) planted in collar sockets on a regolith ballast plinth with a hazard band and a windward dust drift.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Flags for the Mars Colony kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Mars Colony kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A first settlement on red dust. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rust red #c32222, white #f4f1ec, solar blue #2e67b8, hazard orange #ed7e1d, rust red dark #821717, white dark #d7cebc, rust red light #db5757, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `dustStormLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Dust storm level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale in metres: 3.63 m wide × 3.34 m tall (main finial) × 0.74 m deep; origin at bottom centre, resting on y = 0, front faces +Z, flags fly toward +X. 884 triangles, static (no animation clip). Materials are named by kit palette colour so the kit recolours them as one; cloth materials are double-sided single sheets. dustStormLevel is baked into the geometry: it sets the cloth billow and the size of the dust drift on the windward (-X) end. Re-export to change it. Part ids use the kit's dotted, hyphen-free id scheme (flags.*) because the kit's plan checker rejects hyphens in part ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors and only advisory warnings: per-mesh material copies made by the runtime exporter, non-indexed primitives (intentional, for flat facets), nested parts like collar around pole, and a 3.3 m height against the 1 m reference. At mainPoleHeight near its maximum, the viewer's hero frame runs tight at the top. That affects framing only, not the model.
