Tunnel mouth
A low-poly two-lane road tunnel portal: a concrete headwall with a warm-white arch ring and a green tunnel sign, set into a faceted grassy hill with rocky shoulders. The road runs out of the dark bore onto an apron with hard shoulders, lane markings, green verges and a short taper of orange cones.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Tunnel mouth for the Highway and Roadworks kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Highway and Roadworks kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Lanes, junctions and cones. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: asphalt #3b3e45, line white #f4f1ec, cone orange #ed7e1d, sign green #3a883a, asphalt dark #17191c, line white dark #d7cebc, asphalt light #636569, line white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `countryRoadRules` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Country road rules" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 23.2 m wide × 10.43 m tall × 25.8 m deep at the defaults. The clear opening is 10 m wide (two 3.5 m lanes, 0.5 m hard shoulders and 1 m raised walkways) with the arch crown at 7.6 m. The headwall is 0.8 m thick and 9.9 m tall, and the bore runs 8 m in to a closed, dark end wall; it is not a through-tunnel. The 8 m road apron uses the kit road tiles' cross-section (deck top 0.16 m, verge 0.12 m), so a straight tile lines up with the front edge. Its centre dashes keep the kit's 4 m rhythm. The origin is at the bottom centre on y = 0 and the portal faces +Z. The GLB has 1,370 triangles in 18 meshes (merged per part and colour). It is static with no animation clip, and its normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; 9 of the 12 kit colours are used (asphalt dark, line white light and dark wood are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Country road rules (the kit's knob) works the way it does on the road tiles. At 0 you get motorway rules: 1 m hard shoulders, solid edge lines and 1 m dashes. Towards 1 you get a country road: the shoulders narrow (gone above 0.95), the edge lines drop out from 0.75 and the dashes stretch to 3 m. The bore, headwall and hill narrow with the carriageway. laneWidth, boreDepth and cones rebuild the model only in the viewer; the GLB is baked at the defaults. Both extreme combinations (1 / 3.75 m / 12 m / 6 cones and 0 / 3.0 m / 4 m / 0 cones) passed three-check. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: duplicate palette materials (one per mesh), non-indexed flat geometry, deliberate overlaps (the hill shell contains the bore), the crown lights counted as 'detached' because they are embedded in the bore lining (a different part), and a scale check against a 1 m reference. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids; a de-hyphenated copy of the plan passes, and three-check and the GLB carry all 9 ids. The viewer renders at exposure 0.75 on a ground disc; neither is part of the GLB.
About the Tunnel mouth 3D model
Tunnel mouth is a free low-poly 3D model from the Highway and Roadworks set. It measures 23 m × 10 m × 26 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,370 triangles across 18 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 112 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Tunnel mouth 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 112 KB: 1,370 triangles, 4,110 vertices and 18 materials, modelled in metres at 23 m × 10 m × 26 m.
- Can I animate Tunnel mouth?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Tunnel mouth 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
