Attic

A low-poly cutaway attic for a haunted house. A steep shingled A-frame roof sits over exposed rafters and bare floorboards, with a glowing round gable window, an open trapdoor with a ladder, a steamer trunk with a candle, a sheet-draped dress form, an empty rocking chair, stacked boxes and cobwebs.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Attic for the Haunted Mansion kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Haunted Mansion kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A decaying house that watches back. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: faded purple #81688d, bone #e4ddcd, moss #55743e, candle amber #ec9c13, faded purple dark #584861, bone dark #c9ba9c, faded purple light #a497aa, bone light #f9f8f5, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `decayLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Decay level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: At default params the model is about 4.86 m wide x 3.94 m tall x 5.06 m deep (x/y/z), including eaves, overhangs and the ridge finials. The floor deck is 4.2 x 4.6 m and the ridge sits 2.9 m above the floorboards. Origin is at bottom centre, the deck rests on y = 0, and the open cutaway side faces +Z. The front two bays of the right roof slope are stripped to bare rafters on purpose, so the room can be seen from a three-quarter view. 5644 triangles at default (4726 at the smallest/sound extreme, 7545 at the largest/most decayed). It uses 10 of the 12 kit colours; faded purple light and warm white are not used. Material names are exactly the palette colour names. The runtime exporter writes one material copy per mesh, so the GLB holds 27 material entries that share those 10 names. Everything is flat-shaded, non-indexed faceting on purpose; the window glass and candle flame have a mild amber emissive, and the cloth/cobweb material (bone light) is double-sided. decayLevel (the kit's Decay level) controls missing and lifted shingles, moss spreading up from the eaves, one roof hole (above 0.12) and a second one (above 0.55), missing floorboards, broken window panes (above 0.35 and 0.8), the number of cobwebs, and a collar tie hanging loose (above 0.6). At 0 the roof is sound but the front cutaway and two cobwebs remain. The layout is seeded (seed 1931) and deterministic. Props are pushed inward automatically so they always fit under the roof slope. Part ids use the 'hauntedmansionattic.' prefix because the kit's part-id validator does not allow hyphens. Static asset with no animation clip. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 6 warnings, all heuristic or expected: the material copies, non-indexed faceting, nested prop bounds, props that sit on the floor rather than at y = 0, and the model being a room rather than a 1 m object.

About the Attic 3D model

Attic is a free low-poly 3D model from the Haunted Mansion set. It measures 4.9 m × 3.9 m × 5.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,354 triangles across 27 meshes, with 13 named parts. Download the 401 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Attic 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 401 KB: 5,354 triangles, 16,062 vertices and 27 materials, modelled in metres at 4.9 m × 3.9 m × 5.1 m.
Can I animate Attic?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 13 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Attic 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
