Doorways
A low-poly interior doorway for the Cozy Apartment kit: a sage-painted wall with white architraves and an oak four-panel door standing ajar, with brass lever handles. A modular 2 m piece that snaps on a 1 m grid beside the kit's plain wall.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Doorways for the Cozy Apartment kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cozy Apartment kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A small lived-in city flat. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: warm white #f9f7f5, oak #8f693d, mustard #c39b22, sage #89a178, warm white dark #ddd2c6, oak dark #594126, warm white light #f9f7f6, oak light #b48f64, soot black #1b1b22, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `wallColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Wall colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2 m long (a whole number of metres on the 1 m grid), 2.7 m tall and 0.12 m thick, matching the kit's plain wall piece; about 0.2 m deep including the cornice, and the open leaf swings up to about 0.85 m behind the back face. The opening is 0.88 m × 2.07 m and holds a 0.82 m × 2.04 m × 40 mm oak four-panel door. Origin: the snapping end, which is the left end seen from the front (x = 0), centred in the wall's thickness, at floor level. The wall runs to x = 2, the front (light switch) faces +Z and the model rests on y = 0. Cornice runs flush to both ends and skirting and dado rail run flush to the outer ends, so pieces butt into one continuous wall. The door is hinged on the left jamb and opens inward (towards -Z); the door node's pivot sits on the hinge axis, so in an engine you can rotate cozy-apartment-doorways.door about its local Y to open or close it. The GLB has 860 triangles in 12 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip, with the door baked at open = 0.55 (about 50°). three-check's 1158-triangle figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (7 of the 11 used at defaults). wallColour (the kit's 'Wall colour') picks the wall paint in four steps: 0–0.25 warm white, 0.25–0.5 warm white dark, 0.5–0.75 sage (default), 0.75–1 mustard; in an engine, recolour the material named 'sage' instead. open, doorWidth and length rebuild the piece in the viewer; on a 1 m piece the leaf is capped at 0.74 m so architraves still fit. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 expected warnings: 12 per-mesh materials (over the direction's 10) sharing palette names; non-indexed geometry (deliberate hard flat-shaded facets); overlapping siblings (lining and threshold in the opening, panels and handles nested in the leaf); mouldings and switch parts flagged 'detached' because they are mounted on the wall mesh, which sits in another group; and a 2.7 m height against the direction's 1 m reference height. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. Fix rounds: (1) rebuilt the wall as one notched extrusion to remove visible seams between piers and lintel, and opened the default door from 0.35 to 0.55; (2–3) moved the hero view to a left three-quarter (azimuth -18°) so the passage and the panelled leaf both read.
About the Doorways 3D model
Doorways is a free low-poly 3D model from the Cozy Apartment set. It measures 2.0 m × 2.7 m × 76 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 860 triangles across 12 meshes, with 17 named parts. Download the 72 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Doorways 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 72 KB: 860 triangles, 2,580 vertices and 12 materials, modelled in metres at 2.0 m × 2.7 m × 76 cm.
- Can I animate Doorways?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 17 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Doorways 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
