Mugs

A low-poly trio of everyday mugs for a small city flat: a tall warm-white coffee mug on an oak coaster, a squat mustard cocoa mug and a flared black tea mug with the tea bag's tag hanging over its rim.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Mugs for the Cozy Apartment kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cozy Apartment kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A small lived-in city flat. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: warm white #f9f7f5, oak #8f693d, mustard #c39b22, sage #89a178, warm white dark #ddd2c6, oak dark #594126, warm white light #f9f7f6, oak light #b48f64, soot black #1b1b22, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `wallColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Wall colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.40 m wide × 0.23 m deep × 0.106 m tall (x −0.198…+0.198, z −0.116…+0.116); the large mug is 0.10 m tall and 0.084 m across, standing on a 6 mm oak coaster 0.112 m across. Origin at the bottom centre on y = 0. The GLB has 1,340 triangles in 15 meshes (merged per part and palette colour, flat normals baked) and no animation clip. Each mug is a 12-sided lathe: glaze outside, a warm white light lining inside. The drinks are thin discs set just inside the lining (coffee in dark wood, cocoa in oak dark, tea in oak). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. The default GLB uses warm white, warm white light, mustard, soot black, oak, oak dark and dark wood; sage appears when wallColour changes. Params are baked at export, so the GLB is the default build. Mugs have no wall, so wallColour picks the large mug's glaze to stand out against the kit's wall paint at that setting: soot black on a warm white wall (< 0.25), sage on warm white dark (0.25–0.5), warm white on sage (0.5–0.75, the default) and on mustard (≥ 0.75). The other two mugs take the remaining colours from mustard, soot black and sage. mugHeight scales the large mug from 0.08 to 0.12 m. fillLevel sets the drink height, and at 0 the mugs are empty. mugCount drops the tea mug (2) or the tea and cocoa mugs (1). The footprint stays centred, and the dropped mugs' part groups stay registered but empty. With one mug the hero view crops the coaster's front edge; that is viewer framing only. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS); three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for this pipeline: non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, each lining nested inside its glaze shell, and handles and drinks flagged as detached because they sit in or on a mug that belongs to another part.

About the Mugs 3D model

Mugs is a free low-poly 3D model from the Cozy Apartment set. It measures 40 cm × 11 cm × 23 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,340 triangles across 15 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 108 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Mugs 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 108 KB: 1,340 triangles, 4,020 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 40 cm × 11 cm × 23 cm.
Can I animate Mugs?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Mugs 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
