Path and lawn tiles

A low-poly 4 × 4 m City Park ground tile. A beige gravel footpath runs between segmented kerb stones, with striped, faceted lawn on both sides carrying grass tufts, pebbles, a few daisies and fallen leaves. The edges are flat and the path, kerbs and mowing stripes line up across borders, so copies tile seamlessly in every direction.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Path and lawn tiles for the City Park kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the City Park kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Green space in the middle of town. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, path beige #d6c5a9, pond blue #2e67b8, iron black #151619, grass green dark #235223, path beige dark #bda375, grass green light #5db15d, path beige light #ede8de, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: exactly 4.00 × 4.00 m. The lawn surface and every border sit at 0.10 m, the gravel at 0.08 m and the kerbs at 0.11 m. The tallest grass tuft reaches 0.34 m. The origin is at the tile centre and the bottom rests on y = 0. The path runs along Z and the front faces +Z. How it tiles: the dark soil base fills the whole footprint. The gravel bed and kerbs have a constant cross-section from edge to edge. Kerb stones are 0.5 m long and the mowing stripes are 0.5 m wide, both dividing 4 m, so their joints and stripes meet the next tile's. Lawn relief fades to exactly 0.10 m at every border and at the kerbs, and scattered detail stays 0.18 m clear of the borders. Tiles placed left/right meet lawn to lawn; tiles placed front/back continue the path. The GLB has 2,990 triangles in 13 meshes, is static and has no animation clip. Every material is named after its kit palette colour, so you can recolour by name. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some colour names appear more than once (13 materials, 8 distinct colours). The GLB is baked at the default params, and only the defaults were rendered and checked. season (the kit's 'Season') runs from spring (0) to autumn (1). Spring has up to 26 white daisies and mostly light-green tufts. Daisies fade out by 0.6, and from 0.4 up to 48 fallen leaves land on the lawn and path while the tufts turn darker. The default 0.5 shows a few of each. The lawn slab colour does not change, so tiles set to different seasons still match at the seams. pathWidth, tuftDensity and lawnRelief rebuild the tile in the viewer only, and neighbouring tiles need the same pathWidth to line up. The viewer uses exposure 0.9 rather than the direction's 1.05 so the beige path stays distinct from the pale stage ground; this does not affect the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: the material count and duplicates come from the per-mesh export; geometry is non-indexed because it is flat-shaded; overlapping bounds are the nested scatter meshes; parts seated on the soil or lawn register as 'detached'; and the height is below the 1 m reference because this is a ground tile. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 8 ids.

About the Path and lawn tiles 3D model

Path and lawn tiles is a free low-poly 3D model from the City Park set. It measures 4.0 m × 34 cm × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,990 triangles across 13 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 283 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Path and lawn tiles 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 283 KB: 2,990 triangles, 8,946 vertices and 13 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 34 cm × 4.0 m.
Can I animate Path and lawn tiles?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Path and lawn tiles 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
