Footbridge

A low-poly Victorian park footbridge: a humped plank deck on grey arched steel girders, black iron railings with a wooden handrail, and stone end piers with finials. Its paved landings ramp down to path level, and seasonal shrubs sit at the corners.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Footbridge for the City Park kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. This is one part of the City Park kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Green space in the middle of town. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, path beige #d6c5a9, pond blue #2e67b8, iron black #151619, grass green dark #235223, path beige dark #bda375, grass green light #5db15d, path beige light #ede8de, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 8 m long (a whole number of metres, so it snaps on the kit's 1 m grid). The deck is 2.0 m wide and the handrail tops out at 2.05 m above the crown. The footprint is 8.0 × 4.0 m including the corner shrubs, and the deck rises 0.8 m over a 6.4 m clear span. Orientation: the walking axis runs along +X, and the side elevation faces +Z. Origin: at the snapping end (x = 0, centred across the width, y = 0), so the far end lands exactly on x = 8. The paved landings ramp from 0.06 m at each snap edge to 0.2 m where the arch springs, so a flush path tile meets them with a 6 cm lip. Nothing goes below y = 0, and no water or ground is included. The exported model has 3,454 triangles in 11 meshes, one mesh per colour per part. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour, and the same name can appear on more than one material, so recolour by name. Static asset: no animation clip. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. length is rounded to whole metres. archRise is capped at 16% of the clear span so short bridges stay walkable, which means 0.7 m at length 6. season (the kit's 'Season') affects only the corner shrubs. At 0 (spring) they are small and grass green light with warm white blossom. Around 0.5 (summer) they are full and grass green with grass green dark caps. At 1 (autumn) they are thinner and path beige dark with dark wood caps. Only the default params were captured by three-check; the param extremes were reasoned through in code but not rendered. Fix round 1: the girders were first warm white and vanished against the light viewer ground, so they were repainted mid grey. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 warnings. They cover material count and duplicates (from the per-mesh materials), deliberate overlaps (the paving sits inset into the abutment, and the handrail cap overlaps the top rail), the deck flagged as 'detached' (the planks rest on the girders, which belong to a sibling part), and the expected-height heuristic, which assumes about 1 m. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 7 survive the GLB reload.

About the Footbridge 3D model

Footbridge is a free low-poly 3D model from the City Park set. It measures 8.0 m × 2.0 m × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,164 triangles across 11 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 222 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Footbridge 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 222 KB: 3,164 triangles, 6,072 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 8.0 m × 2.0 m × 4.0 m.
Can I animate Footbridge?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Footbridge 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
