Tunnel sections
Three low-poly modular cave tunnel pieces (a straight section, a 90° bend and a crystal section) chained into one L-shaped run. Each piece is a faceted, moss-topped stone tube with a walkable arched bore, a stone floor with an underground stream, timber support frames, torches and cyan crystals breaking through the rock.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Tunnel sections for the Cave System kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cave System kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tunnels, crystals and underground water. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: stone grey #757e8a, crystal cyan #20c6df, moss #55743e, torch amber #ec9c13, stone grey dark #525860, crystal cyan dark #168a9c, stone grey light #a3a5a8, crystal cyan light #67d4e4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `crystalColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Crystal colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the assembled run is 13.7 m wide (X), 13.6 m deep (Z) and 6.34 m tall to the crystal tips. The stone shell's crown is about 4.5 m. Each bore is 3.2 m wide and 3.0 m high above a 0.2 m floor, so a person walks through upright. The straight sections are 4 m long, and the bend is a 90° turn on a 4.2 m centreline radius. The front portal faces +Z and the exit portal faces +X. The origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, and the model rests on y = 0. Every section starts and ends on the same unjittered cross-section, so the pieces chain in any order. Each section is its own named node (straight, bend, crystal_section) with both ends capped. The stream, supports, crystals and rubble are separate shared nodes that span the whole run, so they don't split per section. The GLB has 2,956 triangles in 28 meshes (merged per part and colour), flat normals (non-indexed) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour, and all 12 kit colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. crystalColour (the kit's 'Crystal colour') slides each crystal shard along the crystal cyan dark → crystal cyan → crystal cyan light ramp, and it only swaps between palette colours. The pale ground disc in the preview is viewer staging only and is not in the GLB. The viewer exposure is 0.75 so the grey stone keeps its facets, and this does not affect the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected. Material count and duplicate materials come from the per-mesh materials. Unindexed comes from the flat-shaded geometry. Sibling overlap is the floor, stream, crystals and timbers deliberately embedded in the shell. The scale note expects about 1 m. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. It was verified PASS on a de-hyphenated copy, and three-check accepts the ids. Fix rounds: (1) lower exposure, plus a darker bore and pale portal rims, because the stone read as white and the bores weren't dark; (2) crystals on the flanks lean upward instead of lying flat, plus a bigger crown cluster and a tighter hero; (3) seam caps recoloured to stone grey, so no light line leaks along the section joins.
About the Tunnel sections 3D model
Tunnel sections is a free low-poly 3D model from the Cave System set. It measures 14 m × 6.3 m × 14 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,956 triangles across 28 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 233 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Tunnel sections 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 233 KB: 2,956 triangles, 8,868 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 14 m × 6.3 m × 14 m.
- Can I animate Tunnel sections?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Tunnel sections 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
