Rope ladders
A low-poly rope ladder hanging down a 3.5 m stratified stone cave ledge. The ropes are tied off round timber stakes on top, it has lashed dark-wood rungs, and its slack end lies across the floor. A wall torch, a spare rope coil, moss and cyan crystals complete it.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Rope ladders for the Cave System kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cave System kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tunnels, crystals and underground water. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: stone grey #757e8a, crystal cyan #20c6df, moss #55743e, torch amber #ec9c13, stone grey dark #525860, crystal cyan dark #168a9c, stone grey light #a3a5a8, crystal cyan light #67d4e4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `crystalColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Crystal colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the stone ledge is 3.5 m tall, about 3.6 m wide (X) and 2.1 m deep. The ladder hangs from its front face (+Z) and is 0.5 m wide, with 36 mm-radius rungs every 0.3 m. About 0.9 m of slack lies on the floor, so the full footprint is 3.6 × 3.6 m. The tallest point is a crystal on the ledge top, at 4.28 m. The origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, and the model rests on y = 0. The rungs touch the rock face and the floor rungs rest on the ground. The GLB has 2,742 triangles in 22 meshes (merged per part and colour), flat normals (non-indexed) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name can appear on several materials: recolour by name. At the default crystalColour, crystal cyan dark is not used. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. crystalColour (the kit's 'Crystal colour') moves each crystal along the dark → mid → light cyan ramp, and it only swaps between palette colours. The pale ground disc in the preview is viewer staging only and is not in the GLB. The viewer exposure is 0.62 so the grey stone keeps its facets. This does not affect the GLB. glb-lint reported 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected. The material-count and duplicate-material warnings come from the per-mesh materials. The unindexed warning comes from the flat-shaded geometry. The sibling-overlap warning is the stacked ledge strata. The detached warning is the coil and moss resting on the ledge top. The scale warning expects about 1 m. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. It was verified PASS on a de-hyphenated copy, and three-check accepts the ids. Fix rounds: (1) crystals stand upright instead of lying flat; the strata boundaries tilt and dip so the ledge no longer reads as stacked drums; exposure lowered from 0.75. (2) Looser hero framing so the slack end isn't cropped.
About the Rope ladders 3D model
Rope ladders is a free low-poly 3D model from the Cave System set. It measures 3.6 m × 4.3 m × 3.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,742 triangles across 22 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 213 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Rope ladders 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 213 KB: 2,742 triangles, 8,226 vertices and 22 materials, modelled in metres at 3.6 m × 4.3 m × 3.6 m.
- Can I animate Rope ladders?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Rope ladders 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
