Camper van

A low-poly two-tone pop-top camper van for a lakeside campground, with a forest-green lower body, a canvas pop-top roof, a sliding side door onto a small kitchen and a striped roll-out awning. In a seamless 10-second loop it rolls to a stop, raises its roof on canvas bellows, slides the door open and closes up again.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Camper van for the Campground kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Campground kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tents, vans and a lake. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: forest green #3a883a, canvas tan #bf9769, flame orange #ed7e1d, lake blue #2e67b8, forest green dark #235223, canvas tan dark #9a7142, forest green light #5db15d, canvas tan light #d2bca2, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 5.25 m long including the bumpers and the tail-mounted spare wheel, 1.9 m wide over the body panels (2.24 m over the mirrors) and 2.05 m tall with the roof down (about 3.0 m at the front of the lid when it is fully raised), on 0.68 m tyres with a 3.0 m wheelbase. Units are metres, +Y up, the front faces +Z, and the origin is the bottom centre of the van with the tyres on y = 0. The awning sticks out on the +X side, so the bounding box is not centred on the origin when the awning is rolled out. The GLB has 2,556 triangles in 54 meshes and one 10 s clip ('scene-motion'). In the clip the wheels roll two turns on their axles while the front wheels steer on kingpins through the wheel centres (0–2 s). The pop-top then lifts on its rear hinge line, the sliding door (+X side) steps out and runs back along its track, and both close again. The body never moves. The canvas bellows are fixed to the lid and fold away inside the van when the lid is down. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12; canvas tan light is not used). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat; recolour by name. season (the kit's 'Season') sets how far the striped awning is rolled out: stowed in its cassette below about 0.12, and 2.2 m out on two legs at 1. wheelbase moves the rear axle. popTopAngle sets how far the roof opens (10–20°) and reshapes the bellows to match. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the viewer rebuilds the scene. three-check passed at the defaults and at both extremes (season 0, 2.8 m, 10°; season 1, 3.2 m, 20°). glb-lint reported 0 errors. Its warnings are expected: one material per mesh, non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets, intended nesting (interior inside the body, details on panels), thin trim reported as 'detached', and a scale hint that assumes 1 m objects. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes.

About the Camper van 3D model

Camper van is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Campground set. It measures 3.3 m × 2.1 m × 5.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,556 triangles across 54 meshes, with 20 named parts and a baked animation (10.0 s). Download the 285 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Camper van 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 285 KB: 2,556 triangles, 5,956 vertices and 54 materials, modelled in metres at 3.3 m × 2.1 m × 5.3 m.
Is Camper van animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (10.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Camper van 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
