Bikes in ten types

A low-poly line-up of ten bicycle types on a brick-paved plinth: city step-through, road, mountain, folding, bakfiets cargo, BMX, child's bike with training wheels, tandem, recumbent and penny-farthing. Each bike is its own node, so you can lift any one out of the Bicycle City kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Bikes in ten types for the Bicycle City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Bicycle City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Streets made for bikes. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red lanes #c32222, canal green #3a883a, bright bike colours #b39d80, cream #f1e7d0, brick red lanes dark #821717, canal green dark #235223, brick red lanes light #db5757, canal green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bikeColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Bike colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 7.82 m wide (x) × 3.3 m deep (z) × 1.75 m tall (to the penny-farthing's bar). Bikes are real-world size: 0.7 m wheels on the city, road and mountain bikes, a 2.6 m bakfiets, a 2.9 m tandem and a 1.48 m penny-farthing front wheel. The plinth is 0.1 m thick; the origin is at its bottom centre on y = 0 and every bike heads +X so its drive side faces the +Z front. Each bike is a separate node whose local origin is the bottom centre of its own footprint (tyres on y = 0 of that node), so it can be pulled out and used alone. The GLB has 5,988 triangles in 34 meshes, one mesh per bike and colour; normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after the kit palette colour it uses (10 of the 12 colours appear at the defaults; canal green dark appears only at low bikeColours, and plain brick red lanes is not used, because it washed the paving out to coral). bikeColours (the kit's 'Bike colours') swaps each frame between a muted and a bright kit colour in a fixed golden-ratio order: 0 = all muted, 0.5 = five bright, 1 = all bright. types (1–10) shows the first N types in the order city, road, mountain, folding, cargo, BMX, child's, tandem, recumbent, penny-farthing; bikeGap and rowSpacing re-lay the rows and resize the plinth. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the default build was rendered and checked. No spokes or chains (below the facet size). glb-lint: 0 errors; its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied, and the 5 warnings are expected heuristics (34 materials vs the soft max of 10 because there is one material per mesh with 10 unique names, duplicate names, non-indexed flat shading, overlapping boxes where parts nest inside a bike, and the 4 mm row lines counted as detached though they sit on the paving). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); three-check and the GLB keep them. Two fix rounds: cut the GLB from 7,100 to 5,988 triangles (fewer wheel and chainring segments, open tube ends where they're buried in a joint), then darkened the paving from brick red lanes to brick red lanes dark so the frames stand out.

About the Bikes in ten types 3D model

Bikes in ten types is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bicycle City set. It measures 7.8 m × 1.8 m × 3.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,988 triangles across 34 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 598 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Bikes in ten types 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 598 KB: 5,988 triangles, 17,964 vertices and 34 materials, modelled in metres at 7.8 m × 1.8 m × 3.3 m.
Can I animate Bikes in ten types?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Bikes in ten types 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
