Tool stands

A low-poly public bike repair stand: a canal-green post with a red cap on a grey footing, two black-sleeved hanger arms for hanging a bike by its saddle, and a ring of tethered tools (screwdrivers, spanners, tyre levers, T-hex keys). Part of the Bicycle City kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tool stands for the Bicycle City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Bicycle City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Streets made for bikes. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red lanes #c32222, canal green #3a883a, bright bike colours #b39d80, cream #f1e7d0, brick red lanes dark #821717, canal green dark #235223, brick red lanes light #db5757, canal green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bikeColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Bike colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 0.44 m wide (x) × 0.52 m deep (z) × 1.47 m tall, measured to the tips of the hanger arms. The post is 0.11 m across and stands about 1.34 m tall to its cap. The origin is at the bottom centre of the 0.06 m footing slab, which rests on y = 0. The post sits 0.08 m behind centre, and the arms reach 0.3 m toward +Z (the front), so the footprint balances. The tools are drawn about 1.4× real size so they read at thumbnail scale. The GLB has 1,636 triangles in 15 meshes, one mesh per part and colour. It is static and carries no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after the kit palette colour it uses, and 9 of the 12 kit colours appear at the defaults. bikeColours (the kit's 'Bike colours') picks the tool-handle set: soot black and dark wood below 0.25; brick red, bright bike tan and canal green up to 0.75; above that, brick red light, canal green light, tan and cream. postHeight, armReach and toolCount reshape the geometry. All params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only take effect when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the default build was rendered and checked; the param extremes were not. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. The 5 warnings are heuristics, such as one material per mesh, non-indexed flat shading, overlapping boxes, and 'detached' cap, collar and tether meshes, which actually sit on the post. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan passes with the slug de-hyphenated. three-check and the GLB keep all 7 ids. One fix round: the tools were enlarged and moved out from the post for thumbnail legibility.

About the Tool stands 3D model

Tool stands is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bicycle City set. It measures 44 cm × 1.5 m × 52 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,636 triangles across 15 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 170 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tool stands 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 170 KB: 1,636 triangles, 4,908 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 44 cm × 1.5 m × 52 cm.
Can I animate Tool stands?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tool stands 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
