Bike bridge

A low-poly humped canal bridge for bikes: a two-way brick-red cycle lane with a dashed centre line climbs between brick ramp abutments under two white bowstring arches, with green railings on both sides. It is a modular piece that snaps end to end on a 1 m grid.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Bike bridge for the Bicycle City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. This is one part of the Bicycle City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Streets made for bikes. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red lanes #c32222, canal green #3a883a, bright bike colours #b39d80, cream #f1e7d0, brick red lanes dark #821717, canal green dark #235223, brick red lanes light #db5757, canal green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bikeColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Bike colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 5 m wide × 30 m long × 6.08 m tall (arch crown). The lane is 0.2 m above the ground at both ends and 2.2 m at mid-span, with about 1.5 m of daylight under the girders in the middle. Snapping: the origin is the centre of one end at y = 0. The bridge runs from z = 0 to z = -30, so that end faces +Z. Both ends are level, flat vertical faces with the lane at 0.2 m, so the bridge meets street or lane tiles (or another bridge) on a 1 m grid. Length is in whole metres and nothing pokes past the 5 m footprint. The hump is a sin² curve, level at both ends. Its steepest grade is about 21 % at the defaults (a stylised hump, steeper than a real cycle bridge), and rise is capped at 6.5 % of the length so short bridges stay rideable. The brick abutments run in until the girders clear the ground (5.5 m each at the defaults), and the arches spring from the kerbs at the abutment faces. Bike colours (the kit knob): sets the share of railing posts and arch hangers painted in the kit's 'bright bike colours' instead of canal green dark (posts) and mid grey (hangers), spread by a fixed golden-ratio order. 0 gives all plain steel and 1 gives all bike colour. At 0 or 1 one of the two materials drops out of the model. length, rise, hangers and bikeColours rebuild the geometry in the viewer only; the GLB carries the defaults. The GLB is static, with 7,472 triangles, no animation clip and 9 palette materials. Every material is named after its kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names appear more than once. glb-lint: 0 errors, 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: 15 material instances (9 unique palette names), duplicate palette materials, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested lane markings and railing parts, the lane surface reported as 'detached' because it rests on the deck slab in another group, and a height above the direction's 1 m reference because this is a bridge. Plan-check rejects the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen in the first segment), and that is its only error: the same plan with de-hyphenated ids passes. three-check requires the hyphenated ids, and the GLB carries them.

About the Bike bridge 3D model

Bike bridge is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bicycle City set. It measures 5.0 m × 6.1 m × 30 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 7,472 triangles across 15 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 561 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Bike bridge 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 561 KB: 7,472 triangles, 22,416 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 5.0 m × 6.1 m × 30 m.
Can I animate Bike bridge?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Bike bridge 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
