Floor tiles
A low-poly 4 × 4 m bathroom floor tile in the classic octagon-and-dot pattern: white chamfered octagons with mint square dots and a chrome floor drain at the centre. It butts seamlessly against copies of itself in every direction.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Floor tiles for the Bathroom and Laundry kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Bathroom and Laundry kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tiles, steam and soap. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mint #90d5b3, white #f4f1ec, chrome #cad1d8, soft grey #999999, mint dark #59c08c, white dark #d7cebc, mint light #c9e8d9, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `tileColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Tile colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: an exact 4.0 × 4.0 m footprint (x, z from −2 to +2) with the origin at the tile centre on y = 0, 0.064 m thick. A 0.044 m mid grey screed slab and a 6 mm soft grey grout bed have flat vertical edges from y = 0. On top sit 12 × 12 white octagons on a 0.333 m grid, 14 mm proud with a chamfered top edge, and a square dot at every grid corner. The dots on the border are cut flush at ±2 m with vertical faces, so neighbouring tiles complete each other's half and quarter dots. A 0.14 m chrome drain with a soot black well and two grate bars replaces the centre dot. The GLB has 4,768 triangles in 6 meshes (merged per part and palette colour) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour, and the default build uses 6 of the 12 swatches. Params are baked at export, so the GLB is the default build. tileColour steps the dot colour along the kit's tile ramp, matching the shower cubicle and tile walls: white light < 0.2 ≤ warm white < 0.4 ≤ mint < 0.6 ≤ mint dark < 0.8 ≤ soft grey. tilesPerSide (even, 8–16) sets the octagon size from 0.5 m to 0.25 m (about 8.5k triangles at 16, still under budget). groutWidth sets the joint. The grey viewer disc is staging only and is not in the GLB. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS). three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for a thin floor piece: non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, a scale heuristic tuned for 1 m props, 'detached' layers that actually rest on the slab, and the drain's well nested inside its frame.
About the Floor tiles 3D model
Floor tiles is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bathroom and Laundry set. It measures 4.0 m × 6 cm × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,768 triangles across 6 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 341 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Floor tiles 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 341 KB: 4,768 triangles, 14,304 vertices and 6 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 6 cm × 4.0 m.
- Can I animate Floor tiles?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Floor tiles 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
