Washing machine drum
A low-poly front-loader washing machine drum out of its cabinet: a perforated chrome drum with mint lifter paddles inside hangs from a rear bearing upright and is belt-driven by a small motor, all on a tiled plinth. It has a seamless 8 s loop in which the drum eases through two full turns.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Washing machine drum for the Bathroom and Laundry kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Bathroom and Laundry kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tiles, steam and soap. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mint #90d5b3, white #f4f1ec, chrome #cad1d8, soft grey #999999, mint dark #59c08c, white dark #d7cebc, mint light #c9e8d9, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `tileColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Tile colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.64 m × 0.64 m footprint (the tiled plinth) and 0.63 m tall. The drum is 0.50 m across and 0.32 m deep (a typical 7–8 kg front-loader drum), and its axle sits 0.38 m above the floor. The origin is at the bottom centre, the plinth rests on y = 0 and the drum opening faces +Z. The GLB has 5,180 triangles in 24 meshes and uses 10 of the 12 kit colours (not warm white or dark wood). Every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a name can repeat: recolour by name. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Hierarchy: the drum pulley is a child of the drum. The baked clip scene-motion (8 s, seamless) turns the drum group about the horizontal axle through the bearing centre (x = 0, y = 0.38). The drum eases through 2 whole turns and comes to rest at the seam, so angle and speed both match across the loop. The motor pulley turns 5× as far about its own axle (pulley rims 0.15 m and 0.03 m), which also lands on whole turns. The plinth, upright, motor and belt never move. The belt is a static loop: it reads the same while running. Because three-check exports after its determinism seek, the static node pose in the GLB is the t = 2 s pose. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. tileColour (the kit's 'Tile colour') steps the 16 plinth tiles through white → mint light → mint → mint dark in four bands, and the grout switches to stay in contrast. drumDiameter (0.44–0.56 m) raises or lowers the axle to keep a 7 cm floor clearance. drumDepth (0.26–0.36 m) moves the front opening, while the back stays on the spider. spinTurns sets 1–3 turns per loop. Only the defaults were rendered and checked; the param extremes were not captured. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count, per-mesh duplicate materials, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), nested overlaps (perforations, seal and bolts sit on their parent forms), and a 'detached' flag on the belt. The belt is the only mesh in its group, so it has no sibling to touch, but it is seated 1 mm into both pulley rims. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts the real ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.
About the Washing machine drum 3D model
Washing machine drum is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Bathroom and Laundry set. It measures 66 cm × 71 cm × 64 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,180 triangles across 24 meshes, with 8 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 403 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Washing machine drum 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 403 KB: 5,180 triangles, 15,540 vertices and 24 materials, modelled in metres at 66 cm × 71 cm × 64 cm.
- Is Washing machine drum animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Washing machine drum 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
