Sheet-covered furniture

A low-poly wingback armchair put away under a warm-white dust sheet. The arms, the seat dip and the tall winged back show through the faceted cloth, with dark wooden legs and a strip of brown upholstery below the hem, grey dust on top and cobwebs at the feet.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Sheet-covered furniture for the Attic and Basement kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Attic and Basement kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Forgotten things above and below. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: dust brown #6b4a2e, cobweb grey #757e8a, bulb amber #ec9c13, faded colours #a6a6a6, dust brown dark #362517, cobweb grey dark #525860, dust brown light #9b704b, cobweb grey light #a3a5a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `dustAndCobwebLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Dust and cobweb level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: a 0.86 m wide × 0.84 m deep × 0.98 m tall wingback armchair under a sheet. The sheet tops out at 1.03 m and its draped corners spread the footprint to about 1.9 × 1.5 m, floor dust included. Origin is at the bottom centre of the chair on y = 0, with the front facing +Z. The back drape and a dust patch behind the chair push the model's bounds about 0.1 m toward −Z. The sheet comes from a small deterministic cloth solve run at build time, so each param value always gives the same drape. Hems are uneven, and the corners hang lower and touch the floor, as a thrown sheet does. hemHeight is the target hem height at the middle of the sides, not an exact one. width goes from an armchair (0.76 m) to a 1.6 m loveseat, and the sheet resizes with it. dustAndCobwebLevel lowers the threshold for which up-facing sheet facets turn grey, adds floor dust patches (1 to 3) and adds cobwebs between the legs and the floor (0 to 4). The whole chair is modelled under the sheet, so you can hide the sheet in an engine. Its upper boxes sit 4 cm inside the sheet's clearance so the coarse facets never cut through. The cobweb film is a translucent (BLEND) material named 'faded colours'. Static: no animation clip. 3,856 triangles, counted from the GLB accessors. Both param extremes passed three-check, and the largest setting stays under 5,000. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; three.js writes one material per mesh, so 'warm white' repeats. plan-check's part-id pattern rejects the hyphenated slug ids the brief requires; the plan passed with the hyphens removed and is otherwise unchanged. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its warnings are the repeated material names, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, the sheet's nested shells overlapping and the hidden chair body counted as 'detached'. Fix rounds: 4, one over the 3 the brief allowed. The extra round was a targeted fix for chair corners poking through the sheet.

About the Sheet-covered furniture 3D model

Sheet-covered furniture is a free low-poly 3D model from the Attic and Basement set. It measures 1.9 m × 1.0 m × 1.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,856 triangles across 8 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 279 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Sheet-covered furniture 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 279 KB: 3,856 triangles, 11,568 vertices and 8 materials, modelled in metres at 1.9 m × 1.0 m × 1.5 m.
Can I animate Sheet-covered furniture?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Sheet-covered furniture 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
