Spinning Orrery

A brass and aged-gold tabletop orrery on a dark wood plinth: a glowing candle-yellow sun at the centre with five coloured planets orbiting on curved arms at different radii — one with a small moon — in a seamless 12-second loop.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A brass and aged gold orrery about 0.8 m tall on a dark wood plinth: a candle yellow glowing sun at the centre, five planets of midnight blue, deep violet, moss green, flame orange and parchment on curved brass arms at different radii, one planet with a small moon, and engraved brass rings. Every arm orbits at its own rate around the central axle in a seamless 12 s baked loop, pivots exactly on the axle. This is one part of the Wizard's Tower kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction). Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: midnight blue #1d2448, deep violet #4b2a6b, lavender #8a6fb3, brass #b08d3c, aged gold #8a6a22, candle yellow #f2c94c, flame orange #e8833a, stone grey #6e6f78, dark stone #3e3f47, cliff slate #55606e, parchment #e7d7b1, oak brown #6b4a2f, dark wood #3d2a1c, moss green #5f7d4a, rune cyan #5fd3e6, soot black #1b1b22. Name each material after the palette colour it uses. Kit knobs: expose a param `magicGlow` (0–1, default 0.6) that scales every emissive magic element. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses; an unnamed material fails delivery. This is a classic orrery: the sun sits at the centre and every planet orbits it in one near-horizontal plane at a different radius, on arms that radiate from the central axle — not a vertical pole.

Note: 12 s baked loop 'scene-motion' travels in the GLB: arms do 5/4/3/2/1 turns inner-to-outer, the moon 7, the sun 1 — the loop closes exactly. The moon's orbit is steeply inclined (~60°) so it never clips the neighbouring arms. magicGlow scales the sun and rune-inlay emissive only; it does not affect the baked clip. Materials are flat-shaded with metalness 0 per the flat-lowpoly direction — brass reads by colour, not gloss. glb-lint reported 0 errors; its verdict is UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract is supplied — the remaining warnings are intended embedded joins (inlay rings, hub collars) and planets suspended on their arms. Part ids are dotted under the 'orrery' root (the plan checker forbids hyphens in ids, so the slug is not used as the root id).
