Astrolabe

A brass astrolabe — graduated limb, pierced rete, rule and sighting alidade — hung by its suspension loop on a curved wooden arm over a dark plinth. Flat-faceted low-poly instrument for the Wizard's Tower kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Astrolabe for the Wizard's Tower kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Wizard's Tower kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A crooked tower on a cliff, full of experiments. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: midnight blue #1d2448, deep violet #4b2a6b, lavender #8a6fb3, brass #b08d3c, aged gold #8a6a22, candle yellow #f2c94c, flame orange #e8833a, stone grey #6e6f78, dark stone #3e3f47, cliff slate #55606e, parchment #e7d7b1, oak brown #6b4a2f, dark wood #3d2a1c, moss green #5f7d4a, rune cyan #5fd3e6, soot black #1b1b22. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `towerHeight` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Tower height" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Believable desk-instrument scale: 0.245 m tall overall, dial 0.16 m across. Metres, +Y up, front faces +Z, origin at bottom centre; the stand rests on y = 0 and the dial hangs clear of the plinth. Static asset — no animation clip. towerHeight (0–1) raises the display arm's apex up to ~8 cm; diameter sizes the whole dial; the three angle knobs pose the rete, rule and alidade. Nested mater/plate/rete/ticks overlap is intentional construction, not interpenetration. All materials are flat palette colours — the GLB carries palette names so the kit recolours the set as one.
