Track bed
A low-poly 4 m module of subway track: two steel rails on dark-wood sleepers over a dark ballast bed and a concrete slab, with a third rail under a safety-yellow guard board and a cable trough along the tunnel side. Modules snap end-to-end on a 1 m grid.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Track bed for the Subway Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. This is one part of the Subway Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A busy underground stop. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: tile white #f4f1ec, safety yellow #ffdd33, steel #7e8c9a, line colour #988e81, tile white dark #d7cebc, safety yellow dark #e6bf00, tile white light #f9f8f6, safety yellow light #ffea80, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `lineColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Line colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 4.00 m long × 3.20 m wide × 0.78 m tall (rail top at 0.62 m, guard board top at 0.78 m), standard 1.435 m gauge. Origin at the snapping end: the track runs along +X from x = 0 to x = 4, centred across the width (Z), bottom on y = 0. The third-rail side faces front (+Z) and the cable trough is on the tunnel side (−Z). Snapping: the length is always whole metres, and sleepers sit at (i + ½) × pitch, with the pitch rounded so it divides the length, so butted modules keep an even sleeper rhythm across the joint. 2484 triangles, 15 meshes, static, no animation clip. Every material is named after its kit palette colour, so you can recolour by name. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names appear more than once (15 material slots, 10 unique colours). The GLB is baked at the default params. length, sleeperPitch, thirdRail and lineColour (the height of the line-colour band on the cable trough) rebuild the model in the viewer only. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its 5 heuristic warnings are all expected: duplicate material names, more than 10 material slots, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, and nested or seated parts that register as overlapping or detached (the sleepers are half-buried in the ballast, and the rail heads sit on the rails). Plan-check rejects the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen in the first segment. That is its only complaint; three-check and the GLB carry the ids correctly.
About the Track bed 3D model
Track bed is a free low-poly 3D model from the Subway Station set. It measures 4.0 m × 78 cm × 3.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,484 triangles across 15 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 247 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Track bed 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 247 KB: 2,484 triangles, 7,392 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 78 cm × 3.2 m.
- Can I animate Track bed?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Track bed 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
