Benches
A low-poly three-seat subway platform bench. Dark-wood seat and back slats sit on cast steel end standards, with line-colour armrests that divide the seats and a line-colour top rail, bolted to the floor on black fixing pads.

Left rail: colours and the 3 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Benches for the Subway Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Subway Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A busy underground stop. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: tile white #f4f1ec, safety yellow #ffdd33, steel #7e8c9a, line colour #988e81, tile white dark #d7cebc, safety yellow dark #e6bf00, tile white light #f9f8f6, safety yellow light #ffea80, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `lineColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Line colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.96 m long × 0.66 m deep × 0.92 m tall. The seat top is 0.46 m above the floor, with one 0.6 m seat per person. The origin is at the bottom centre on y = 0, and the seat faces +Z. The GLB has 428 triangles in 7 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed), so the facets survive in any engine. It uses 5 of the 12 kit colours, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so 'dark wood' and 'line colour' each appear on two materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. lineColour (the kit's 'Line colour') sets how much line-colour livery the bench carries: the top-rail depth (0.04–0.12 m) and the armrest pad thickness. seats (2–4) sets the length and adds a third standard at 4 seats. backTilt rakes the backrest and the back supports together. glb-lint: 0 errors and 3 heuristic warnings. One flags duplicate materials (the per-part meshes above). One flags non-indexed geometry, which is deliberate flat shading. One flags 'detached' seat and armrests; these are seated a few mm into the frame and slats, which belong to other part groups. The heuristic verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 6 survive the GLB reload. Under the direction's bright sun rig, the kit's line colour (#988e81) reads close to off-white.
About the Benches 3D model
Benches is a free low-poly 3D model from the Subway Station set. It measures 2.0 m × 92 cm × 66 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 428 triangles across 7 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 37 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Benches 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 37 KB: 428 triangles, 1,284 vertices and 7 materials, modelled in metres at 2.0 m × 92 cm × 66 cm.
- Can I animate Benches?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Benches 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
