Changing rooms

A low-poly sports-centre changing-room block: a row of court-blue cubicles with hinged doors, a bank of orange two-tier lockers and a slatted island bench with a coat-hook rail, all against one back wall. Kit bags and towels show how busy the room is.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Changing rooms for the Sports Centre kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Sports Centre kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Courts, pool and gym. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: court blue #2e67b8, wood #7d5736, white #f4f1ec, energy orange #ed7e1d, court blue dark #1f457a, wood dark #47321f, court blue light #6190d1, wood light #ac7d53, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `sportOnCourt` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Sport on court" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 5.16 m wide (X) × 2.46 m tall (Y) × 2.18 m deep (Z). The wall is 2.40 m high with a 0.06 m coping. The three cubicles are 1.0 × 1.4 m, with 2.1 m partitions raised 0.15 m on legs and doors that swing out to the front. Each locker column is 0.38 m wide, and the bank is 0.5 m deep and 1.85 m tall, rising to 2.01 m at the back of the sloped top. The bench seat is 0.45 m high and 1.8 m long. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint (wall back to bench front) and everything rests on y = 0. The front faces +Z. The exported GLB has 1800 triangles and is static (no animation clip). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several of the 30 materials: recolour by name. The default model uses 10 palette colours. Warm white appears only once sportOnCourt places the folded towel, and dark wood is not used. sportOnCourt (the kit's 'Sport on court') sets how busy the rooms are. It fills six gear slots in order (kit bags on the bench and floor, towels on hooks and the bench): 0 is empty, 0.5 gives three items, 1 gives all six. Per-item part ids exist only for the items present, and per-door ids only for the cubicles present. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The viewer's ground disc and light rig are not in the GLB. three-check passed at the defaults and at both extremes (4 cubicles, 6 columns, doors fully open, all gear; and 2, 2, closed, no gear). glb-lint found 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicates (from the per-mesh materials), overlaps where handles and vents are seated on their door slabs, 'detached' parts that rest on parts in another group (header rail on the partitions, seats and hooks on the wall), and the 2.46 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. The viewer uses an exposure of 0.8 instead of the direction's 1.05 so the saturated kit colours do not wash out.

About the Changing rooms 3D model

Changing rooms is a free low-poly 3D model from the Sports Centre set. It measures 5.2 m × 2.5 m × 2.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,800 triangles across 30 meshes, with 25 named parts. Download the 156 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Changing rooms 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 156 KB: 1,800 triangles, 3,476 vertices and 30 materials, modelled in metres at 5.2 m × 2.5 m × 2.2 m.
Can I animate Changing rooms?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 25 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Changing rooms 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
