Pigeon coop

A low-poly city-rooftop pigeon loft: a warm-white plank coop with brick-red trim and a tar-grey gable roof on a stilted timber deck, with a wire fly pen whose roof is the landing board, two entry traps, an orange door left ajar, a ladder and three perched pigeons.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Pigeon coop for the Rooftop District kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Rooftop District kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Life above the streets. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red #c32222, tar grey #757e8a, sunset orange #ed7e1d, water-tower brown #6b4a2e, brick red dark #821717, tar grey dark #525860, brick red light #db5757, tar grey light #a3a5a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `skylineHeight` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Skyline height" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2.52 m wide across the deck, 1.8 m deep (about 2.25 m including the ladder foot) and 3.06 m tall to the top of the ridge pigeon (ridge cap at 2.83 m; the deck floor is at 0.89 m and the loft walls are 1.4 m tall). The origin is at the bottom centre, all six stilts and the ladder foot rest on y = 0, and the front (door, fly pen, ladder) faces +Z. The GLB has 1,772 triangles in 23 meshes, is static and has no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour and all 12 colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials (23 materials): recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. skylineHeight (the kit's 'Skyline height') sets the stilt height from 0.3 m to 1.1 m (0.7 m at the default), which raises the whole loft and lengthens the ladder. coopWidth sets the loft width; doorOpen swings the door from closed to about 77 degrees; pigeonCount places 0-4 birds on the ridge and landing board. Only the default params were rendered and checked; the extremes were not captured. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings — per-mesh materials (count and duplicates), non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), overlaps where trim, vents and frames are deliberately nested on the walls, parts flagged 'detached' that actually rest on the wall or joists, and the 3.06 m height against a generic 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; with the ids substituted it passes. three-check accepts the real ids and all 12 survive the GLB reload.

About the Pigeon coop 3D model

Pigeon coop is a free low-poly 3D model from the Rooftop District set. It measures 2.7 m × 3.1 m × 2.4 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,772 triangles across 23 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 145 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Pigeon coop 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 145 KB: 1,772 triangles, 5,316 vertices and 23 materials, modelled in metres at 2.7 m × 3.1 m × 2.4 m.
Can I animate Pigeon coop?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Pigeon coop 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
