Amphorae
A low-poly Roman wine store: three pitch-sealed terracotta amphorae standing toe-down in a dark-wood rack, one of them broken at the shoulder, with its sealed neck and sherds lying in front.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Amphorae for the Roman Forum kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Roman Forum kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The civic heart of an imperial city. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: marble white #f4f1ec, terracotta #be5937, imperial red #c32222, bronze #916430, marble white dark #d7cebc, terracotta dark #823d26, marble white light #f9f8f6, terracotta light #d08971, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `intactOrRuined` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Intact or ruined" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: each Dressel 1 amphora is 1.11 m tall and 0.34 m across the belly. The rack is 1.33 m long and 0.46 m deep, and the whole set stands 1.15 m tall to the jar seals. With the fallen neck in front, the footprint is about 1.33 × 0.9 m. Origin is at the bottom centre, the rack floor rests on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 2,548 triangles in 23 meshes and is static, with no animation clip. three-check's live-scene performance figure is 2,482 triangles; the GLB count above was taken by summing the accessors of the exported file. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (7 of the 12 are used). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can repeat; recolour by name. intactOrRuined (kit 'Intact or ruined'): up to 0.25 every jar is whole and sealed, so 0–0.25 renders identically. Above 0.25, jars break from the east (+X) end, at seeded heights that drop as the value rises, with jagged lips that show the wall thickness. Each broken jar's sealed neck and four sherds lie in front of the rack. At 1, all but the west jar are broken, or the only jar when amphoraCount = 1. amphoraCount (1–5) rebuilds the rack to fit. bellyWidth (0.85–1.2) widens the bellies, the rack and the spacing. The worst case (5 jars, ruin 1, belly 1.2) is about 4,650 triangles. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Part ids change with the count and the ruin level. The extremes were rendered and inspected. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 expected warnings, all caused by the per-mesh export: 23 material slots against the direction's 10, though there are only 7 distinct colours; duplicate same-named materials; deliberately non-indexed flat facets; and jars nested inside the rack, which reads as sibling overlap. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes, and three-check and the GLB reload keep all 6 ids.
About the Amphorae 3D model
Amphorae is a free low-poly 3D model from the Roman Forum set. It measures 1.3 m × 1.2 m × 85 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,548 triangles across 23 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 200 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Amphorae 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 200 KB: 2,548 triangles, 7,644 vertices and 23 materials, modelled in metres at 1.3 m × 1.2 m × 85 cm.
- Can I animate Amphorae?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Amphorae 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
