Conveyor belts

A low-poly 2.9 m slat-belt conveyor for a robot factory: a loop of black slats with orange cleats running over two drums between electric-blue side frames, on light-grey legs, with an orange gearmotor and an e-stop control box. It comes with a seamless 8 s running-belt loop.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Conveyor belts for the Robot Factory kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Robot Factory kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A clean line that builds robots. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, light grey #a3a5a8, electric blue #136dec, orange #ed7e1d, white dark #d7cebc, light grey dark #7c7f83, white light #f9f8f6, light grey light #cccccc, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `lineSpeed` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Line speed" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2.9 m long × 0.87 m deep × 0.94 m tall (top of the guide rails); the belt is 0.6 m wide and its surface sits at 0.85 m working height. Origin is at the bottom centre of the bounds on y = 0; the gearmotor and control box face the front (+Z), the belt's top run travels toward +X. 1,680 triangles. Animation clip 'scene-motion' is 8 s and loops seamlessly: each of the 40 slats (registered sub-parts belt.slat_00–39) travels exactly one lap of the belt path, the drums turn 8 whole turns and the 3 return rollers (rollers.roller_1–3) 27 whole turns, each pivoting on its own axle. Frames, legs, drive and control box never move. lineSpeed (kit 'Line speed') sets the loop length from 12 s (0) to 4 s (1); the GLB is baked at the default 0.5 = 8 s. length, beltWidth and beltHeight change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer (the slat count and loop counts are recomputed so the loop stays seamless); the GLB is baked at default params. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed geometry) so the facets survive in engines that ignore flat-shading flags. Static parts are merged to one mesh per colour; the exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials — recolour by name. 8 of the 12 kit colours are used; white dark, white light, warm white and dark wood are not. glb-lint: 0 errors, 5 heuristic warnings (material count above the direction default because of one material per mesh, duplicate-named materials, non-indexed primitives for flat normals, cleats overlapping their slats by design, and slats/rollers flagged as detached because they ride on parts in other groups). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated slug part ids this library requires (its id pattern allows no hyphen); with neutral ids the same plan passes, and three-check plus the GLB reload accept the slug ids.

About the Conveyor belts 3D model

Conveyor belts is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Robot Factory set. It measures 2.9 m × 94 cm × 89 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,680 triangles across 77 meshes, with 10 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 511 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Conveyor belts 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 511 KB: 1,680 triangles, 5,040 vertices and 77 materials, modelled in metres at 2.9 m × 94 cm × 89 cm.
Is Conveyor belts animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Conveyor belts 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
