Platforms
A low-poly 24 m Victorian side platform for the Railway Station kit. A brick platform wall with a cream coping edge carries a paved deck that ramps down to rail level, an iron-green canopy on cast-iron columns with dagged valance boards, benches, a hanging clock, gas lamps, red fire buckets and a rear railing.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Platforms for the Railway Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Railway Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Platforms, signals and a grand hall. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick #9e3d2e, iron green #3a883a, cream #f1e7d0, signal red #e90c0c, brick dark #63261d, iron green dark #235223, brick light #c66253, iron green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 24 m long (x) × 6.06 m deep (z) × 5.02 m tall to the canopy ridge cap. The deck is 0.92 m above y = 0, which stands for rail level, and the last 5.5 m at the −x end is a 1:6 ramp down to y = 0. The track edge (cream coping) faces +Z, the rear railing faces −Z, and the origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint. No track or ballast is included. The GLB has 4,392 triangles in 25 meshes (one merged mesh per part and colour), is static and carries no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after one of the 12 kit palette colours, and all 12 appear at the default. era (the kit's 'Era') sets the canopy length from 45 % to 85 % of the level deck (4 of 3 m bays at the default), makes the valance boards dark wood below 0.5 and cream from 0.5, and paints a warm-white safety line along the edge from 0.75. platformLength (snapped to 3 m), platformWidth and platformHeight resize the platform; the ramp length follows the height, and lamps, benches and railing bays re-space. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The default build and both extremes (all-min: 2,486 triangles, all-max: 7,670 triangles, viewer figures that include about 290 staging-ground triangles) passed three-check. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected for this build style: more than 10 materials with duplicate names (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat shading, overlapping sibling boxes (wall and ramp pieces nest), 'detached' heuristics for the canopy-mounted meshes, and the scale check for a subject taller than 1 m. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan passes with the slug de-hyphenated, and three-check and the GLB keep all 12 ids. Two fix rounds: (1) tighter hero framing, lower exposure so the paving keeps its grey, a second gas lamp, and the reddish paving joints removed; (2) the eave beams had been placed outside the eaves, where they hid the valance boards, so they were moved inboard.
About the Platforms 3D model
Platforms is a free low-poly 3D model from the Railway Station set. It measures 24 m × 5.0 m × 6.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,392 triangles across 25 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 438 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Platforms 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 438 KB: 4,392 triangles, 13,176 vertices and 25 materials, modelled in metres at 24 m × 5.0 m × 6.1 m.
- Can I animate Platforms?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Platforms 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
