Lamp posts
A low-poly Victorian railway platform lamp post: a cast-iron green column on a fluted base and stone plinth, with a lamplighter's ladder bar and a square tapered gas lantern with pale glass in a black frame. Params switch it to a twin-lantern post or a later swan-neck electric lamp.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Lamp posts for the Railway Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Railway Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Platforms, signals and a grand hall. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick #9e3d2e, iron green #3a883a, cream #f1e7d0, signal red #e90c0c, brick dark #63261d, iron green dark #235223, brick light #c66253, iron green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 3.94 m tall to the finial, 0.77 m wide across the ladder bar, 0.6 m square at the stone plinth (default params); the lantern glass is about 0.38 m across at the top. The origin is at the bottom centre of the column and the model rests on y = 0; front faces +Z. The GLB has 572 triangles in 10 meshes (merged per part and colour, flat normals baked, non-indexed) and no animation clip; the largest variant (two heads, lampSize 1.3) stays well under 1,500. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour (6 of the 12 kit colours used); the exporter writes one material per mesh, so a name can repeat: recolour by name. The glass is opaque warm white (no transparency, no emissive). Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era') runs from an ornate gas lamp (below 0.4: light-green bead and knobs, spiked finial) through a plain gas lamp (the finial ball drops at 0.6) to a later swan-neck electric lamp with an enamel shade and plain base (0.75 and up). heads = 2 gives twin lanterns on a braced cross arm, or twin swan necks for the electric era; a single swan neck reaches towards +Z, so that variant's footprint is not centred on the origin. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings (duplicate per-mesh materials, unindexed flat-shaded geometry, sibling overlap from collars nested on the column on purpose, the ladder bar and glass flagged as 'detached' because they sit inside or around other parts rather than touching them, and scale against the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes.
About the Lamp posts 3D model
Lamp posts is a free low-poly 3D model from the Railway Station set. It measures 80 cm × 3.9 m × 60 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 572 triangles across 10 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 49 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Lamp posts 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 49 KB: 572 triangles, 1,716 vertices and 10 materials, modelled in metres at 80 cm × 3.9 m × 60 cm.
- Can I animate Lamp posts?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Lamp posts 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
