Knives
A low-poly kitchen knife set: a slanted dark-wood knife block with an end-grain top holding five riveted knives, beside a butcher-block cutting board with a chef's knife and a tomato.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Knives for the Kitchen kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Kitchen kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A full working kitchen. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: tile white #f4f1ec, steel #7e8c9a, butcher-block wood #7d5736, tomato red #c32222, tile white dark #d7cebc, steel dark #5a6672, tile white light #f9f8f6, steel light #adb3b8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `cabinetColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Cabinet colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the knife block is 0.14 m wide and 0.18 m deep. It stands 0.12 m tall at the front and 0.23 m at the back, and the handles reach 0.31 m. The cutting board is 0.38 × 0.24 × 0.022 m. The whole set covers 0.56 × 0.41 m. The origin is at the bottom centre of that footprint on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 1,138 triangles in 24 meshes (merged per part and palette colour), with flat-shaded non-indexed geometry and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. Params are baked at export, so the GLB is the default build. cabinetColour paints all knife handles in the kit's 5-step cabinet ramp: tile white below 0.2, steel light up to 0.4, steel (the default) up to 0.6, steel dark up to 0.8, and tomato red from 0.8. count removes knives back to front but leaves their slots visible. lean changes the slope of the block's top. board 0 removes the board, the lying knife and the tomato. Only the blade stubs of the block knives are modelled, because the blades are hidden inside the block. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was checked on a de-hyphenated copy, which passed. three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for this pipeline: per-part material instances, non-indexed flat geometry, block parts overlapping by design, and a 'scale' heuristic that expects objects about 1 m tall.
About the Knives 3D model
Knives is a free low-poly 3D model from the Kitchen set. It measures 56 cm × 31 cm × 41 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,138 triangles across 24 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 102 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Knives 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 102 KB: 1,138 triangles, 3,414 vertices and 24 materials, modelled in metres at 56 cm × 31 cm × 41 cm.
- Can I animate Knives?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Knives 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
