Spiral ramp

A modular helical timber ramp for the Elven Treetop City: individual deck planks wrap a faceted trunk-post 1.5 turns at a 1:4.2 grade, springing from a 2 m square stone landing and finishing on a flat top landing 3.9 m up. An outer handrail on posts with iron knee braces, three hung lanterns and season-driven foliage complete it.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Spiral ramp for the Elven Treetop City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. This is one part of the Elven Treetop City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Platforms and bridges high in giant trees. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, silver #b9bfc6, bark brown #6b4a2e, soft gold #cfaf59, leaf green dark #235223, silver dark #8f99a3, leaf green light #5db15d, silver light #e4e6e7, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Origin sits at the centre of the 2 m square stone base landing, on y = 0 — that landing is the 1 m-grid snapping interface and the piece's only ground contact. 'length' is the spiral run in whole metres (16 m at default, climbing 3.62 m at 1:4.2 over 1.5 turns); a flat 0.8 m run at the foot and a 0.9 m straight top landing are included in that figure. Default bounding size 5.25 x 5.32 x 5.35 m. 'season' is the kit knob and changes only the COUNT of leaf clusters, blossoms and vine stems on the outside of the rail (4-34 / 4-30 / 4-22), never a material colour, so the palette names stay exact at every value. Geometry is non-indexed with per-face normals because glTF cannot carry a flatShading flag — the facets are baked in, so importing into a tool that re-smooths normals will soften them. Parts interpenetrate on purpose (joists let into the newel, lantern arms through the rail). Static: no animation channels in the GLB. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 3 expected warnings (non-indexed flat-shaded primitives, designed part overlaps, and heur/scale comparing 5.32 m against the direction manifest's generic 1.0 m reference_height); its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because the brief's lint command supplies no requirements sidecar.
