Life rings
A low-poly cruise ship life-ring station: two coral-and-white banded life rings with festooned grab lines hang on hooks from a teak-capped white deck rack, with a coiled heaving line on the end post.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Life rings for the Cruise Ship Deck kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cruise Ship Deck kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A floating holiday. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, teak #815731, pool blue #2e67b8, sunset coral #e2715a, white dark #d7cebc, teak dark #4a311c, white light #f9f8f6, teak light #b37c4d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `shipLength` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Ship length" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at defaults: 2.17 m wide (cap rail), about 0.42 m deep (foot plates to hook tips) and 1.32 m high to the top of the grab-line loops; the cap rail is at 1.30 m. The rings are 0.76 m across (standard 30-inch buoy) with a 0.16 m tube. The origin is at the bottom centre, the bottom rests on y = 0, and the rings face +Z. The GLB has 2,624 triangles in 7 meshes, 7 materials and no animation clip; it is a static asset. It uses 7 of the 12 kit colours, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. shipLength (the kit's 'Ship length') sets how many rings the station carries: 1 (0), 2 (0.5) or 3 (1), and the rack widens to match. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict prints UNVERIFIED because 5 rules need a requirements contract or a manual review. Its heuristic warnings were reviewed: the coral and white bands of a ring share one bounding box by design, the hooks hang from the cap rail and the rope wraps the rings, so nothing floats. plan-check passes on a copy with the hyphens removed from the part ids; its regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires, and three-check accepts them.
About the Life rings 3D model
Life rings is a free low-poly 3D model from the Cruise Ship Deck set. It measures 2.3 m × 1.3 m × 43 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,624 triangles across 7 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 191 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Life rings 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 191 KB: 2,624 triangles, 7,860 vertices and 7 materials, modelled in metres at 2.3 m × 1.3 m × 43 cm.
- Can I animate Life rings?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Life rings 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
