Deck sections

A low-poly 4 × 4 m cruise ship open-deck tile: teak planks with black caulked seams on a steel sub-deck, a white kerb with recessed deck lights, and a blue jogging track with coral edge lines. Its edges are flat and every run continues across the borders, so copies tile seamlessly in every direction.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Deck sections for the Cruise Ship Deck kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Cruise Ship Deck kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A floating holiday. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, teak #815731, pool blue #2e67b8, sunset coral #e2715a, white dark #d7cebc, teak dark #4a311c, white light #f9f8f6, teak light #b37c4d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `shipLength` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Ship length" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: an exact 4 × 4 m footprint, 0.204 m tall (a 12 cm steel sub-deck, 5 cm teak planks and a 7 cm kerb top with light lenses). The origin is at the tile centre, the bottom rests on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. Every border face is a flat vertical plane. Planks, kerb, track and lines run along Z and join the neighbouring tile's, and every plank ends flush on the Z borders. Lights and track dashes repeat at a pitch that divides 4 m. Placed side by side in X, the teak and the track alternate. The GLB has 1,012 triangles in 10 meshes and no animation clip; it is a static asset. It uses 8 of the 12 kit colours, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. shipLength (the kit's 'Ship length') sets the plank length: 1 m planks with staggered butt joints at 0, 2 m at the default, and full 4 m planks at 1. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict prints UNVERIFIED because 5 rules need a requirements contract or a manual review. Its 5 heuristic warnings were reviewed and do not apply: the plank meshes interleave by design, the caulking and lenses are seated on other parts, and the low height is expected for a deck tile. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. A copy with the hyphens removed passes, and three-check accepts the ids.

About the Deck sections 3D model

Deck sections is a free low-poly 3D model from the Cruise Ship Deck set. It measures 4.0 m × 20 cm × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,012 triangles across 10 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 81 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Deck sections 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 81 KB: 1,012 triangles, 2,988 vertices and 10 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 20 cm × 4.0 m.
Can I animate Deck sections?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Deck sections 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
