Plants

A low-poly corner of three houseplants for a small city flat: a tall fiddle-leaf fig in a faceted floor pot on a saucer, a snake plant in an oak pot and a small trailing pothos in a mustard pot with vines spilling onto the floor.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Plants for the Cozy Apartment kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cozy Apartment kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A small lived-in city flat. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: warm white #f9f7f5, oak #8f693d, mustard #c39b22, sage #89a178, warm white dark #ddd2c6, oak dark #594126, warm white light #f9f7f6, oak light #b48f64, soot black #1b1b22, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `wallColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Wall colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.21 m wide × 0.87 m deep × 1.39 m tall (x −0.605…+0.605, z −0.434…+0.434, including the pothos vines trailing on the floor); the fig's floor pot is 0.43 m tall on a 0.41 m saucer, origin at the bottom centre on y = 0. The GLB has 2,852 triangles in 10 meshes (merged per part and palette colour, flat normals baked) and no animation clip. Leaves are written with both windings so they read from above and below without a double-sided material. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; the default GLB uses sage, warm white, warm white dark, oak light, mustard, oak dark and dark wood (soot black and mid grey appear when the wallColour knob changes). Params are baked at export, so the GLB is the default build. Plants have no wall, so wallColour picks the floor-pot colour that stands out against the kit's wall paint at that setting: soot black (with a mid grey saucer) on a warm white wall (< 0.25), mustard on warm white dark (0.25–0.5), warm white on sage (0.5–0.75, the default) and mustard (≥ 0.75); the pothos pot turns warm white when the floor pot is mustard. plantHeight sets the fig's height, leafCount its leaves, and potCount drops the pothos (2) or the pothos and snake plant (1); the footprint stays centred and the dropped plants' part groups stay registered but empty. At the extreme (1 pot, 1.7 m, 40 leaves) the hero view crops the top leaf tips; that is viewer framing only. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS); three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for this pipeline: per-part material instances that share a colour, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, and soil, stems and leaves flagged as detached because each one sits in a pot that belongs to another part.

About the Plants 3D model

Plants is a free low-poly 3D model from the Cozy Apartment set. It measures 1.2 m × 1.4 m × 87 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,852 triangles across 10 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 210 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Plants 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 210 KB: 2,852 triangles, 8,556 vertices and 10 materials, modelled in metres at 1.2 m × 1.4 m × 87 cm.
Can I animate Plants?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Plants 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
