Tile walls

A 4 × 4 m bathroom ground piece: a mint-and-white chequered tile floor with a chrome drain, and a 2.4 m tiled wall along its back edge with a mint square-tile wainscot, a chrome towel rail with a towel, and a chrome soap shelf. It is low-poly and tiles seamlessly with its neighbours.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tile walls for the Bathroom and Laundry kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Bathroom and Laundry kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tiles, steam and soap. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mint #90d5b3, white #f4f1ec, chrome #cad1d8, soft grey #999999, mint dark #59c08c, white dark #d7cebc, mint light #c9e8d9, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `tileColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Tile colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: an exact 4 × 4 m footprint (x and z from −2 to 2), origin at the tile centre on y = 0. The model is 2.42 m tall: a 2.4 m tiled wall plus its chrome cap. The wall stands along the back edge (z −2 to −1.85) and faces +Z. A 3 cm floor slab covers the whole footprint with flat vertical edges from y = 0, and the 8 × 8 floor chequer keeps half a grout gap at each edge. Wall tile columns always divide 4 m exactly (stack bond), so neighbours tile in every direction and wall runs continue left and right. The GLB has 4,012 triangles in 20 meshes. It is static and has no animation clip. three-check's 4,302 figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 colours are used. glb-lint lists 20 materials because the exporter writes one per mesh; they share the 12 palette names. tileColour (the kit's 'Tile colour') sets the wainscot tiles' colour in five steps: white light, mint light, mint (default), mint dark, mid grey. To recolour it in an engine, change the material named 'mint' on the wall.wainscot mesh. The pump bottle also uses 'mint'. wallHeight, tileSize and wainscotHeight rebuild the piece in the viewer. The GLB is baked at the defaults, and only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its 6 warnings are expected: per-mesh materials over the direction's limit of 10, duplicate palette names, non-indexed (flat-shaded) geometry, shelf items nested on the tray, tiles flagged as 'detached' because they sit on the grout plane, and a height above the direction's 1 m reference. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphens; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 7 planned ids. Fix round 1 enlarged the towel rail, towel and soap-shelf items so they read at thumbnail size, and changed the floor chequer to mint light / white light. The back of the wall is plain warm-white plaster. Steam is a separate kit piece.

About the Tile walls 3D model

Tile walls is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bathroom and Laundry set. It measures 4.0 m × 2.4 m × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,012 triangles across 20 meshes, with 25 named parts. Download the 300 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tile walls 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 300 KB: 4,012 triangles, 12,036 vertices and 20 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 2.4 m × 4.0 m.
Can I animate Tile walls?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 25 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tile walls 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
