Lagoon

A low-poly tropical lagoon about 12.8 × 9.9 m across: a faceted sand ring with a pale dune crest encloses a still turquoise basin banded from pale shallows to a deep centre, with coral heads breaking the surface. Grey reef rocks guard a low gap at the front, palm-green shrubs line the back and a driftwood log lies on the beach.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Lagoon for the Tropical Island kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Tropical Island kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Palm beach and blue lagoon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sand #d1bd94, turquoise #31c4b8, palm green #3a883a, coral #e2715a, sand dark #ba9c5e, turquoise dark #22877e, sand light #e6ddcb, turquoise light #6dd5cc, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `islandSize` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Island size" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 12.8 m (X) × 9.9 m (Z) in plan and 1.66 m tall at the tips of the beach grass. The sand ring's dune crest is up to about 1.2 m and the water surface is at 0.50 m. Origin at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0; the low reef gap in the ring faces the front (+Z). The GLB has 5,721 triangles in 11 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's 6,011-triangle figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12; soot black is unused). The water is a single upward-facing faceted sheet whose edges are buried in the sand slope, coloured per facet in three depth bands. It is opaque, so the lagoon floor is closed geometry but not visible through it. islandSize (the kit's 'Island size') trades water for land: higher values widen the sand ring, so the lagoon shrinks, and raise the dune crest. lagoonDepth sets how far the basin floor sits below the water, and coralCount sets the number of coral heads. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. The viewer uses exposure 0.62 rather than the direction's 1.05 so the pale sand keeps its tone; this does not affect the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 3 warnings, all expected: 11 materials, one over the direction's default of 10 (each is a distinct palette colour the kit recolours by); non-indexed geometry, which is intentional for hard flat-shaded facets; and 'detached' flags for the water, rocks and sand surface meshes, which sit in or on the closed sand body. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 9 ids.

About the Lagoon 3D model

Lagoon is a free low-poly 3D model from the Tropical Island set. It measures 13 m × 1.7 m × 9.9 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,721 triangles across 11 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 413 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Lagoon 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 413 KB: 5,721 triangles, 17,163 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 13 m × 1.7 m × 9.9 m.
Can I animate Lagoon?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Lagoon 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
