Tool trolleys

A low-poly pit-lane tool trolley: a grey roll cab on castors with team-livery drawers (the top one pulled out over a tray of sockets), open cubbies holding spare-part boxes and wooden wheel chocks, and a worktop carrying a wheel gun and wheel nuts. The gun's air hose runs back to a reel on one end, and a push handle sits on the other.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tool trolleys for the Racing Circuit kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Racing Circuit kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Speed, pit stops and crowds. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: tarmac #34373d, kerb red and white #f4f1ec, flag colours #988e81, grass #539b3b, tarmac dark #101113, kerb red and white dark #d7cebc, tarmac light #5c5d61, kerb red and white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `teamLiveries` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Team liveries" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at default params: about 1.17 m long (X) including the hose reel at the −X end and the push handle at the +X end (0.9 m cab, trolleyLength), 0.59 m deep across the worktop (about 0.77 m with the top drawer half out), and 1.08 m tall to the handle grip. The worktop surface is at 0.965 m, and the castors have 120 mm tyres. The origin is at the bottom centre of the bounding footprint, which includes the open drawer, so the cab sits slightly behind it. The tyres rest on y = 0, and the drawer fronts face +Z. The GLB has 2,276 triangles in 33 meshes (merged per part and palette colour), is static and carries no animation clip. 11 of the 12 kit colours are used (grass is not), and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. Names repeat because the exporter writes one material per mesh, so recolour by name. Team liveries (the kit knob) sets the share of drawer fronts, filled from the top down, painted in flag colours rather than kerb white. It also sets the height of the flag-colour band round the back and handle end; at 0 the band is gone and only the white pinstripe stays. At 0.5, 3 of 5 drawers are liveried. trolleyLength stretches the cab, drawerCount (3–7) sets the stack (shallow drawers at the top), and drawerOpen slides the top drawer out by up to 0.3 m over a tray of sockets. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only rebuild the model in the viewer. Both extremes (0.75 m, 7 drawers, fully open, full livery; 1.1 m, 3 drawers, closed, no livery) passed three-check. The drawers are merged geometry and are not rigged to slide in an engine. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict prints UNVERIFIED because 5 rules need a requirements contract or a manual review. It also gives 4 expected heuristic warnings: per-mesh duplicate materials, nested panels counted as overlaps, and shelf-resting spares and flush drawer fronts flagged as detached. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires; a de-hyphenated copy of the plan passes, and three-check accepts the ids.

About the Tool trolleys 3D model

Tool trolleys is a free low-poly 3D model from the Racing Circuit set. It measures 1.2 m × 1.1 m × 77 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,276 triangles across 33 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 114 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tool trolleys 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 114 KB: 2,276 triangles, 2,831 vertices and 33 materials, modelled in metres at 1.2 m × 1.1 m × 77 cm.
Can I animate Tool trolleys?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tool trolleys 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
