Crates

A low-poly stack of alley cargo: a slatted dark-wood shipping crate with a black composite crate on top and a grey composite crate beside it, each composite lid ringed by a neon band.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Crates for the Cyberpunk Alley kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cyberpunk Alley kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A rain-soaked back street under neon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: black #151619, neon pink #f994b6, cyan #20c6df, sodium yellow #eecd2b, black dark #090a0b, neon pink dark #f64c84, black light #3a3c40, neon pink light #fcdee8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `neonColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Neon colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at defaults: 1.62 m wide x 0.87 m tall x 0.69 m deep. The wood crate is 0.80 x 0.56 x 0.60 m (frame outside the planks adds a few cm), the top composite crate 0.54 x 0.30 x 0.40 m and the side crate 0.60 x 0.40 x 0.42 m. Origin is at the bottom centre, the model rests on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. 1148 triangles, 22 meshes, 10 materials, each named exactly after its kit palette colour. Static model with no animation clip. neonColours sets the emissive strength of the two lid neon bands and the cyan strip on the shipping label (0 = unlit paint, 1 = full glow); the value is baked into the GLB's emissive colours at export. crateCount 1 leaves only the wood crate, 2 adds the top crate, 3 adds the side crate. Every part node carries its library id (cyberpunk-alley-crates.*) and wraps a twin node with a kit-grammar id (crates.*), because the design kit's part-id pattern does not allow hyphens. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 3 heuristic warnings, all checked and expected: faces are non-indexed on purpose for flat shading; nested pieces (the core inside the planks, ribs around the crate bodies, grip bars in their pockets) overlap on purpose; and the neon bands and latches attach to the lids and bodies, which sit in neighbouring part groups rather than being siblings.
