Observation hut
A low-poly volcano observation hut: a dark-wood cabin on a basalt stone plinth under a lava-orange mono-pitch roof that tilts up over a shuttered panoramic window band, with a railed viewing deck and telescope, an instrument mast with dish and warning beacon, a roof solar panel and a seismometer vault.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Observation hut for the Volcano Island kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Volcano Island kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A smoking peak over black sand. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: basalt black #151619, lava orange #ed7e1d, ash grey #757e8a, jungle green #3a883a, basalt black dark #090a0b, lava orange dark #af590e, basalt black light #3a3c40, lava orange light #eea668, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `eruptionStage` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Eruption stage" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the cabin is 4.6 m wide × 3.4 m deep on a 0.55 m basalt plinth, with walls 2.3 m high at the back rising to about 2.9 m at the front under a 10° mono-pitch roof. With the deck, steps, mast and seismometer vault the footprint is 6.4 × 7.35 m, and the beacon on the mast top reaches 5.95 m, the full bounding-box height. The origin is at the bottom centre of the whole footprint, the model rests on y = 0, and the front (deck, door and panoramic window band) faces +Z. eruptionStage (the kit's 'Eruption stage') lowers the steel storm shutters over all three windows (nearly open at 0, almost closed at 1), banks a deeper ash drift up the low back end of the roof and in the deck corner, and turns up the warning beacon's emissive glow. hutWidth (3.8–6.5 m), plinthHeight (0.3–1.0 m, which also sets the deck height and step count) and deckDepth (0.9–2.4 m) reshape the hut. The params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The GLB has 3,132 triangles in 42 meshes and is static, with no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 kit colours are used. Only the beacon (lava orange light) carries an emissive. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. The viewer's staging ground and light rig are not in the GLB. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 6 warnings, all expected: material count and duplicates come from the per-part, per-colour meshes; geometry is non-indexed on purpose for flat facets; overlaps are plinth stones nested on the plinth core; 'detached' flags the roof ash and the seismometer lid, which sit flush on the roof and vault; the height warning only compares against a 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check keeps all part ids.
About the Observation hut 3D model
Observation hut is a free low-poly 3D model from the Volcano Island set. It measures 6.4 m × 6.0 m × 7.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,132 triangles across 42 meshes, with 14 named parts. Download the 256 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Observation hut 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 256 KB: 3,132 triangles, 9,396 vertices and 42 materials, modelled in metres at 6.4 m × 6.0 m × 7.3 m.
- Can I animate Observation hut?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 14 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Observation hut 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
