Cash boxes

A low-poly trio of 1920s speakeasy cash boxes: a black steel box with its lid thrown open on a velvet lining, a coin tray of gold coins and banded banknote bundles, beside a stacked emerald and dark-wood lock box with brass handles.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Cash boxes for the Speakeasy kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Speakeasy kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A hidden jazz club in the 1920s. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: black #151619, gold #d0a225, emerald #248f59, velvet red #c32222, black dark #090a0b, gold dark #8f7019, black light #3a3c40, gold light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `luxuryLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Luxury level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: about 0.65 m wide × 0.30 m tall (to the top of the open lid) × 0.36 m deep. The main cash box is 0.30 × 0.22 m and 0.11 m tall closed, the emerald box 0.27 × 0.20 × 0.095 m and the wooden box 0.22 × 0.16 × 0.08 m. These are believable desk-top cash/lock boxes. Origin is the bottom centre on y = 0, and the front (lock plates, coin tray) faces +Z. The GLB has 1,120 triangles in 15 meshes (one per part and colour), with flat normals baked and no animation clip. The lid is its own node, posed about its hinge on the back top edge. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, so recolour by name; the exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on several materials. luxuryLevel (the kit's 'Luxury level') controls the hardware: nickel (mid grey) below 0.25, dark brass from 0.25 and gold from 0.5, where gold corner caps and a velvet-red lining also appear. The bundles are 1 layer deep below 0.25, 2 layers from 0.25 and 3 layers from 0.75, and the coin stacks grow with them. lidOpen swings the lid from closed (0) to 105° (1). boxCount 1–3 drops the wooden box, then the emerald one; the 'stacked_boxes' node is always present and is empty at 1. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Two extreme builds also passed three-check: luxury 1 / lid closed / 3 boxes, and luxury 0 / lid half-open / 1 box. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings (15 materials vs a soft default of 10, duplicate per-mesh materials, non-indexed flat-shaded primitives, intentional nesting of linings in the box shells, and a 'scale' note because the subject is 0.3 m, not 1 m). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphen this library requires in slug-based ids; a de-hyphenated copy passes. three-check accepts the ids, and all 6 survive the GLB reload.

About the Cash boxes 3D model

Cash boxes is a free low-poly 3D model from the Speakeasy set. It measures 65 cm × 30 cm × 36 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,120 triangles across 15 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 92 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Cash boxes 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 92 KB: 1,120 triangles, 3,360 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 65 cm × 30 cm × 36 cm.
Can I animate Cash boxes?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Cash boxes 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
